About Our School
Welcome to Churchill County Middle School!
Serving students in grades 6 through 8, Churchill County Middle School is proud to provide a well-rounded, inclusive, and engaging educational experience to approximately 700 students. With a student-to-teacher ratio of 22:1, we are committed to creating a supportive learning environment where every student is known, valued, and encouraged to grow.
Our school offers 18 diverse elective courses, including Art, Band, Choir, STEM, Computer Education, Mythology, Forensics, Family & Consumer Sciences, and Career Tech Exploration. Every student is issued a Chromebook to support learning both in and out of the classroom.
We are a PBIS Tier III school and were honored with the Nevada APBS Diamond Award for the 2023-2024 school year. In 2022, we were also recognized as a Purple Star School, highlighting our commitment to supporting military-connected families.
Through a Choose Kindness Foundation grant, we implement weekly kindness lessons across all advisory classes, focused on promoting empathy, mutual respect, attentive listening, and appreciation. These activities strengthen our school culture and help students foster positive relationships in school, at home, and within the community.
Our counseling department focuses on student agency and mental wellness, offering services such as individual and group counseling, academic planning, strength-based interventions, emotional regulation strategies, and suicide prevention education.
We also promote student recognition through programs like Tribes, Gerka Greats, Student of the Month, and Kindness Wednesdays.
Outside the classroom, students can participate in athletics, including Track & Field, Cross Country, Basketball, Volleyball, and Wrestling, supporting physical health, teamwork, and school pride.
At CCMS, we are committed to academic excellence, emotional growth, and a culture rooted in kindness and respect.
