Message from Principal
Hello CCMS Students & Families,
My name is Victor Schoenfeldt and I am thrilled to be the new Principal of Churchill County Middle School.
Prior to receiving this position, I was the principal at Sierra Nevada Academy Charter School. During my time there, I placed a strong focus on academic performance and student growth measures. I have experience working with at-risk students, and my duties also included assessments, curriculum, and developing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.
My upbringing was centered around a family of three in the Northern California region. I graduated high school in Napa, California, and followed my desire to become a professional golfer. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University. From there, I traveled to the East Coast, then back to the West Coast, where I earned a Master’s Degree from Gonzaga University in Initial Teaching. My love of teaching junior golf drove my passion to work with students. After graduating from Gonzaga, my career placed me in Arizona, where I began my educational career as a classroom teacher. After my first child was born, I moved to northern Nevada to continue my career as an educator.
It was in Nevada that my teaching career led me into school administration. For the past 19 years, I have served as the principal of a public charter school. I sought this career to have a greater impact on the number of students and families I could assist. Being a school administrator is bare-none the most rewarding career path I could have chosen. I truly feel I help students and families every day.
I am thrilled to bring my experiences, philosophies, strategies for growth, and dedication to the school. I believe that all voices matter, and we are all in this together, finding each one’s unique talents, which creates a world of success. I strive daily to make a difference in the lives of all I work with. My positivity-centered approach, coupled with humility, is how I incorporate varied approaches to student success. I firmly believe that presence and attendance are huge and that it is vital that all parties work together to build bridges for student success. I will say that knowledge is key. This year, we will see some changes specifically tailored to the school’s current performance levels, with identified goals and strategies to improve overall student growth, both academically and socially/emotionally. It’s going to be an exciting year.
In my free time, I love to adventure and explore the outdoors. I enjoy hiking, fishing, and finding a new trail. Exploring the Nevada desert and watching the sunrises makes me appreciate the world we live in. I also enjoy spending time with my children and watching them participate in high school sports.
I am looking forward to getting to know the Fallon community and having conversations, developing strong communications, and increasing the overall school climate at the middle school. I cannot wait to get started!
