Meet the Principal
    Message from our principal

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year at Churchill County Middle School (CCMS)!

    Greetings families,

The middle school years are a great time of self-discovery, increased academic rigor, and personal challenges. Every student needs a school and home support system to navigate these important developmental years. Please be an active participant in your child’s education by:

Attending conferences Accessing and checking grades on Infinite Campus Communicating by phone or email Getting kids to school regularly and on time. Churchill County Middle School communicates frequently via email and sends information fliers through Peachjar. Please let us know if you would like to update your email information.

CCMS will continue to increase the productivity of the classroom community through the implementation of common social expectations based on the Tribes Model and a Positive Supports Intervention System. The principles of Attentive Listening, Mutual Respect, Showing Appreciation, and No Put Downs will guide classroom rules and expectations. Kindness matters!

The focus for the 2019-20 school year will be creating a Learner-Centered environment and developing the attributes of a Profile of a Learner. The attributes are Critical Thinker, Inspired Innovator, Collaborative Learner, Effective Communicator, Global Citizen, and Lifelong Learner.

I have an open-door philosophy and welcome families to come in and participate in their children’s educational experiences. Together we can make great strides in academic and social achievement in preparation for high school, college, careers and pursuing individual passions! Go Greenwave!

    Sincerely, Amy Word, CCMS Principal
